Ammonia nitrogen analyzer method principle (how to choose ammonia nitrogen analyzer reagents)

The ammonia nitrogen analyzer is a water quality testing instrument manufactured according to the national environmental protection standard method 'HJ535-2009 Determination of Ammonia Nitrogen in Water Quality by Nessler Reagent Spectrophotometry'. Nessler's reagent reacts to generate a light reddish-brown complex, the absorbance of the complex is proportional to the ammonia nitrogen content, the absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 420nm, and the ammonia nitrogen content can be obtained according to the drawn standard curve by measuring the absorbance. The upper limit of the determination of this method is 2mg/L.

Ammonia nitrogen wastewater mainly comes from chemical fertilizers, coking, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, landfill, etc. A large amount of ammonia nitrogen wastewater is discharged into water bodies, which not only causes eutrophication of water bodies but also causes black and odorous water bodies. The difficulty and cost of water treatment increase, and even the People and organisms have toxic effects. At present, ammonia nitrogen is an item that must be detected in the daily analysis of the environmental industry, and the use of ammonia nitrogen analyzers is also more extensive.

The use of ammonia nitrogen analyzer must be used with the Nessler reagent. Nessler reagent refers to a reagent that uses the principle of ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry to determine the content of ammonia nitrogen in air and water. It is a slightly yellowish green at room temperature. The transparent solution, with the increase of exposure time, a yellow-brown precipitate is gradually formed, and the solution will gradually turn yellow. Because iodide ion and mercury ion will react with ammonia under strongly alkaline conditions to form a light reddish-brown complex, and this color will have strong absorption at the wavelength of 420nm, and the absorbance of the resulting reddish-brown complex it will be proportional to the ammonia nitrogen content of its solution. Therefore, the absorption value of the test reaction solution can be used to determine the content of ammonia nitrogen.

Therefore, when using the ammonia nitrogen analyzer to detect the ammonia nitrogen content, it is very important to choose a suitable Nessler reagent, so how to choose? You can refer to the standard:

1. Comply with the national environmental protection standard method 'HJ535-2009 Determination of Ammonia Nitrogen in Water Quality by Nessler Reagent Spectrophotometry';

2. With a long period of validity, users can avoid direct contact with toxic and hazardous materials, simplifying the entire test and analysis steps;

3. Safe, economical, time-saving, and ready to use;

4. No cumbersome purchase process, available from stock.
